Arrived!

Hello! Welcome to my study abroad blog, currently titled Another Journey but likely to be changed, since that's pretty boring. This semester I will be living in Buenos Aires, Argentina and studying with IFSA-Butler at the universities there.

Leaving New York (JFK) at ~10pm. Goodbye USA!

Arriving in Buenos Aires. This city is massive.

I arrived in Buenos Aires around 10:30am (8:30am ET), went through immigration and customs, and met up with some of the other program members as we all looked vaguely lost in the airport. Several program staff members met us and hailed us each individual taxis, which promptly took us to our individual host families. I've had the rest of the day off since then to rest, eat, and explore the neighborhood a little bit. Today is a holiday, though, so there were remarkably few people out and most of the stores were closed.

I am living in an apartment in la Recoleta with my host mom and her daughter Sofia, who is my age. There are also two Venezuelan women boarding here.

My room in the apartment, with a large closet to the right.

Today has been as hot and sticky as a North Carolina summer, and without as effective air conditioning. As a result, it hasn't been particularly eventful. Tomorrow, my host mom will take me on the Subte, the metro here, to my orientation with IFSA-Butler. And that's as much as I know so far!
